Serena sat on her front porch, throwing seed
on the ground for
the chickens. Her hair was pulled up in its normal
Meatballs, as Darien
called them.
* Katie's sittin' on her old front porch
* Watchin' the chickens peck to ground
* There ain't a whole lot goin' on tonight
* In this one hoarse town.
She wore a white skirt just above her knees and a
pink blouse over a
white spaghetti strap, much to the disproval of her father,
but she was going
on a date with Darien tonight. A honking suddenly
snapped her head up, and
a smile spread over her lips.
* Over yonder, comin' up the road
* In a beat up Chevy truck
* Her boyfriend Tommy is honking on the horn
* Splashing through the mud and the muck
Serena smiled happily at her boyfriend, Darien.
"That boy's trouble Serena." Serena's father said,
appearing in the doorway.
"He's poor and probably doesn't know left from right."
'Not true, he's very
smart.' Serena's mind replied. "You have no future with
him Serena." Her
father said. Serena rolled her eyes,
"Later Dad!" she called, running to the waiting arms.
* Her daddy said, he wasn't worth a lick
* When it came to brains he got the short end of the stick
* But Katie's young and man she just don't care
* She'd follow Tommy anywhere
"Hey, I thought I was suppose to come to the door
and get ya." Darien
said as Serena fell into his embrace. He laughed, lifting
her into the vehicle
princess style.
* She's in Love with the boy
* She's in Love with the boy
* And even if they have to run away
* She's gonna marry that boy some day
Darien wrapped his arm carefully around Serena's
shoulder. She
smiled, leaning her head on his shoulder, picking up the
familiar sent of
roses and spice. He smiled down at the mass of blonde,
holding her closer to
him. He tapped her shoulder innocently, she smiled and
blushed and the
familiar mischievous glint in his eyes. He cradled her
carefully and traced
her jaw line with his fingers, all-serious. Leaning down,
her pressed his lips
against hers into a passionate kiss.
* Katie and Tommy at the drive in movie
* Parked in the very last row
* There to busy hold onto each other
* Too even care about the show
Serena giggled lightly, rubbing the ice cream off
her nose, but Darien
wasn't has carefree at the moment.
"Darien?" Serena said, getting his full attenchion, and
smiling. He returned
the small, his nerves calming. 'Just ask her!' His mind
yelled, 'You Love
her! Just do it!' Serena suddenly felt something cold slip
on her ring finger.
"Serena...Marry Me?" Darien asked, holding his breath,
praying with all his
heart. Serena's lips slightly parted, she smiled up at him,
She stepped on her
tip-toes, carefully locking their lips.
"Yes." She said into his mouth, followed by a giggle
from both.
* Later on outside the Tasty Freeze
* Tommy slipped something on her hand
* He said my High School Ring will have to do
* 'Til I can by a wedding band
Serena didn't care that he couldn't afford a ring. She
didn't care about not
having mountains of money. As long as she could be
with Darien, her world
would be pure heaven.
* Her daddy said, he wasn't worth a lick
* When it came to brains he got the short end of the stick
* But Katie's young and man she just don't care
* She'd follow Tommy anywhere
A wide smile spread across his face, and tears weld
in both their eyes.
Wrapped up in a passionate kiss, neither noticed the tears
streaking their
cheeks. Their bodies slid together perfectly. Once they
reluctantly separate,
out of lack or breath, they fell into mild laughter.
"Your father's gonna be mad." Darien stated, still
holding her close to his
body.
"Does it look like I care?" she said, inching closer to his
lips once more, but
Darien stopped her, to her surprise, then smiled, leaning
down himself.
* She's in Love with the boy
* She's in Love with the boy
* And even if they have to run away
* She's gonna marry that boy some day
"Don't make to much noise." Serena whispered
into Darien's ear.
They were debating earlier on weather to talk to her
parents, or just leave,
but Darien didn't want her to regret not talking to her
mom. They snuck
through the house, holding back careless giggles. Darien
planting butterfly
kisses around Serena's neck, jaw, nose, fore head and so
on, whenever
humanly possible. Serena didn't bother to contain her
giggles any longer.
"I Love You." Darien said, his face nuzzled into her
neck. Her back leaned
against his chest, his arms wrapped around her waist,
caressing the material
over her stomach. She paced her hands over his, and
closed her eyes.
"I Love You Too." She said, opening her eyes with a
loving look.
"Serena, go too your room, I want to talk to this boy."
The two whirled
around. Serena's father stood in the doorway, the
darkness covering him
form.
* Her Daddy's waitin' up 'til half past twelve
* When they come sneakin' up the wall
* He says young lady go on up to your room
* While me and Jr. have a talk
Serena gulped and forced her way out of Darien's
arms.
"Papa, please, I didn't mean to-"
"Serena, upstairs." He father ordered, "And you to won't
be seeing each
other any longer." Serena clenched her fists and took a
deep breath,
"No, Papa, you can't-"
"Serena! You two will never speak again, do I make
myself clear?"
"No Mr. Tsukino, with all do respect I-"
"This is MY daughter little boy, and I won't be having a
anyone like you
influencing her into something she doesn't want."
"I Love her sir." He announced.
"Serena upstairs!"
"Kenji!" Ikuko, Serena's mother, squealed, stepping into
the dark room.
"Stay out of this Ikuko." He commanded. Her cheeks
puffed, similar to
Serena.
"Kenji you lay off those to! Serena, Darien, ignore him,
he just can't accept
the fact his daughter IS an actual PERSON!"
"Ikuko she's to young! She'll end up on the streets!"
"Shut up!" Ikuko yelled, "Why can't you see what they
have!"
* Mama breaks in says don't loose your temper
* It wasn't very long ago
* When you were nothin' but a lazy plow boy
* Who didn't have a row to hoe
Serena and Darien stood back as Serena's mother yelled
into her father's
face about how they belonged together and how when
they were young, her
father said the exact same thing to her.
"Your mom's pretty good." Darien said, a little shocked
at how Kenji
whimpered under his wife's scolding. Serena smiled and
nodded.
* My daddy said, you wasn't worth a lick
* When it came to brains you got the short end of the stick
* But he was wrong and honey you are to
* Katie looks at Tommy like I still look at you
Ikuko smiled and hugged Serena, and then shoved
Kenji out of the
room. Serena giggled slightly, glancing at Darien before
plunging into his
arms, falling into a kiss, full of giggles. Darien picked her
up and spun her
around. After setting her down, her face tried the serious
look, but didn't
last. They pushed that aside as he leaned down, gently
pressing his lips to
hers, and wrapping his arms around her waist. She
responded smiling, tying
her arms around his neck. They smiled happily to each
other, caught up in
the perfect moment of love.
* She's in Love with the boy
* She's in Love with the boy
* What's meant to be will always find a way
* She's gonna marry that boy some day
